The Seven Chakras
Marble, Semiprecious Stones
2013
The design of this panel is based on the Vedic Chakra system, which includes not only the knowledge on the Chakras themselves and their correspondence to our body and health, but also how the semi and precious stones are associated with them. Each Chakra was designed and created using the stones that are the symbolic representation of them. I further related the design of the flowers to the numerology associated with each Chakra. The panel’s basic structure is based on long neglected geometrical principles: the Chakras located beneath the Throat Chakra, represented by the 5th flower, are located inside the square. This is a reference to their belonging to the lower levels of the body, more connected to the earth or matter (which traditionally is represented by the square itself). The upper chakras, connecting us to the spiritual world are represented by the arch, or the heavenly dome.

In the centre of the rectangle is placed the Heart Chakra, as a symbolic centre, connecting the lower and the upper levels of the body. It is also the point where the diagonals spread from, giving the key points of the geometric construction. The shape of the stems were inspired by the Kundalini, the energy that moves the Chakra wheels, and the 14 pieces that are not part of the petals (leaves, buds and connectors) represent the 14 main Nadis, which are the second main energy spread of our life energy. The last picture attached can help you understanding this description.

Those who are on the spiritual path, and are discovering their body's subtle energies, may benefit from this panel, as it can be of guidance to those who are meditating upon their energy centres and are struggling to awaken their kundalini. It can also be used for those who are doing clearing and healing work through their Chakras. This panel is part of the Healing Images series. You can see the other panels linked bellow:
