Hausgeist 1
Woodcarving in Lime, painted
2021
This wooden carved gargoyle was created to help protect the front entrance of a
newly refurbished house. The client has comissioned Joachim Tantau to redesign
the whole house. He used sacred geometry and his knowledge of Feng Shui and
Geomancy to realign what was out of balance and to create a lot more space and
beauty. The house was totally transformed. He then commissioned Aline to add 2
gargoyles, one on the north side of the house and one on the south side. This is the
north side gargoyle, which is there to keep the bad eye away and to invite only
those with good intentions in. In German the gargoyles are called Hausgeist,
translating to House Spirit.
